The Heart of the Father trip is designed to strengthen the bond between fathers and sons while encountering God as a good and loving Father. Set in the rugged beauty of Ouray, Colorado, this trip invites participants to step away from daily distractions and step into adventure and intentional discipleship.Through shared challenges, meaningful conversations, and time in God’s creation, fathers and sons will grow closer to one another and gain a deeper understanding of the heart of God as Father.Primary activities include via ferrata, hiking, and camping. Itinerary may shift based on weather, group needs, or conditions.

What should I expect this trip to look like?
  • 4 days / 3 nights camping near Ouray in the San Juan Mountains
  • Via ferrata and hiking with safety instruction and guided leadership
  • Morning devotionals, Scripture-based teaching, and group prayer
  • Father–son discussion prompts and intentional connection time
  • All meals during the trip and group camping equipment provided
  • Travel together from Colorado Springs to Ouray and back
Are there any experience requirements?

No prior technical experience required. Sons must be at least 12 years old and willing to engage in devotionals and discussions.

Are there any Fitness requirements?

Participants should be prepared for day hikes on steep, uneven mountain terrain and changing mountain weather (temperature swings, rain/hail, and cold nights). Moderate physical activity with light day packs.
